The main symptom of this disorder is the excessive, unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. When the fear is beyond one’s control, or if the fear is interfering with daily life, then a diagnosis under one of the anxiety disorders can be made.
Some people have the fear of heights, spiders, clowns and other things which seem usual to others. Have you seen someone totally normal at one point of time and the very next moment they are shouting seeing someone or something? Certainly, we all have witnessed such scenarios. Each one of us is afraid of one thing or the other sometimes a living being too.

Phobophobia is a phobia defined as the fear of phobias or you can say the fear of fear. Some people actually have fear of phobias or fear of developing a phobia. It is related to anxiety disorders and panic attacks directly linked to other types of phobias and should be treated as part of anxiety disorders.
2.Heliophobia: Fear of Sunlight
Heliophobia is a problem that afflicts hundreds of people. Many people stay away from the sun because of growing fears about skin cancer. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can also cause heliophobia.
3. Nomophobia: Fear of being out of mobile phone contact
Nomophobia is the fear of being out of mobile phone contact. An abbreviation for no-mobile-phone phobia, the term was coined during a study by the UK Post Office who commissioned YouGov, which found that nearly 53 percent of mobile phone users in Britain tend to be anxious when they lose their mobile phone, run out of battery or credit, or have no network coverage.
4. Ablutophobia: Fear of Bathing
Ablutophobia is the persistent, abnormal and unwarranted fear of bathing, washing or cleaning. It is a situational specific phobia that tends to be more common in children and women than in men.
5. Chorophobia: Fear of Dancing
Chorophobia is the irrational fear of dancing, often based on one’s unwillingness to become aroused, excited or ecstatic. Chorophobia is also a fear of any event, outcome, situation or person that resembles, relates or symbolizes dancing of any form or kind. Sufferers of Chorophobia do anything and everything to avoid dancing of any form or kind.
6. Spectrophobia: Fear of mirrors or one’s own reflection
Spectrophobia is a kind of specific phobia that involves a morbid fear of mirrors and one’s own reflections. Usually, an individual that deals with Spectrophobia has been traumatized in an event where they believe they have seen/heard apparitions or ghosts. Horror films, television shows or nightmares too contribute in spectrophobia.
7. Scopophobia: Fear of being looked at
Implausible it might sound but the fact remains that there are people suffering from an intense and irrational fear of being looked at or stared at. Known as Scopophobics, the sufferers tend to avoid large public places and other large gatherings of people.
8. Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia: Fear of the number 666
Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia is the fear of the number six hundred sixty-six. Originating from the Biblical verse Revelation 13:18, which indicates that the number 666 is the number of the Beast linked to Satan or the Anti-Christ. I actually didn’t believe it to be true but there are people who actually fear number 666.
9. Anthophobia: Fear of Flowers
Anthophobia is an abnormal and persistent fear of flowers. It is understood that the flowers d generally understand that flowers don’t hurt but the sufferers invariably experience anxiety at the mere sight or thought of flowers.
10. Genophobia: Fear of Sexual Relations
Genophobia is the physical or psychological fear of sexual relations or sexual intercourse. Genophobia can also be called coitophobia or erotophobia. It induces panic and fear in individuals much like panic attacks.
11. Papaphobia: Fear of the Pope
Some people have the fear of sacred places, holy people and likewise. Termed Papaphobia, it’s the fear of the Pope. Papaphobia is considered to be a specific phobia related to Hierophobia (fear of holy people or sacred things), fear of church, organized religion or holy people and fear of saints or holy things.
12. Trichophobia: Fear of loosing hair
No one likes the hair loss but there are lot many people who are continuously suffering from the fear of loosing their hair. Such extreme fear is termed as Trichophobia.
