‘Unsolved Mysteries’, the mere mention of it makes us recall the American television program hosted by Dennis Farina currently. Undeniably, it’s a very interesting programme worth sparing out time. However, the fact cannot be denied that those who don’t know about the program respond strangely when talked about unsolved mysteries.

For the fact that many mysteries are related to ghosts, disappearance of people, group, ship and much more these leaves people silent and terrified. Scientifically, it is said that everything has a reason behind but there are lot many incidents that have happened and cannot be explained by logical reasoning.

The world is a magical place, full of mysteries and it can be rightly said that science may never understand these. No matter how many researches are done, and theories exist; the fact remains that lot many people don’t understand and they keep wondering as to why a particular incident happened and what’s the logical reason behind.

Not only, there is a list of incidents that have occurred in the past there are certain phenomena in the present era that leave people stunned and wide-mouth opened.

1. Aliens’ visit on our planet

Have Aliens Visited Our Planet? Lot many books and movies are based on the stories of aliens but the answer the question if not extraterrestrials have visited our planet still keeps lot many researchers wondering. Since 1947, when an alien spacecraft reportedly crashed near Roswell, New Mexico, aliens have been part of popular culture. The suspiciously flying saucers and other stories hint the coming of aliens to our planets still there is no firm answer to the question if aliens have visited us.

2. DB Cooper’s identity

DB Cooper, the mysterious hijacker that stole $200,000 and jumped from a plane en route to Mexico till date has never been identified. If you remember, DB Cooper boarded Northwest Airlines Boeing 727, Flight 305 from Portland to Seattle and sat in seat 18C. To shock the passengers in the lane, he gave a note to a flight attendant that he had a bomb and wanted $200,000 in cash and four parachutes. At around 10,000 feet, he jumped from the plane at night time, and was never heard of again. Few claimed to be the wife or DB Cooper but still the mystery remains unsolved.

3. Secret of the Winchester Mystery House

Most of you out there might know that the Winchester Mystery House is a mansion located in San Jose, California. Built by Sarah Winchester, a widow who had lost her husband and child the mansion has no proper planned architecture. The house has staircases that go nowhere, doors that are inaccessible and there are secret passages everywhere that altogether make it a haunted place. It is reported to be haunted still by the spirits of those people who passed away at the hands of a Winchester weapon. Anyone who wishes to visit the mansion is permitted but it is said one has to be daring enough. Is this house truly haunted? It’s one unsolved mystery!

4. Capitol Building Cornerstone

On September 19th, 1783, George Washington laid the United States Capitol Building Cornerstone but till date, because of changing architects, fires and various issues; the cornerstone is unknown. The story uncovers that George Washington was a Freemason and was wearing traditional Mason costume when laying the cornerstone, so it is believed that the stone was taken by the Freemason’s, either for safekeeping, or for some other reason. Infact there are different opinions related to this but the mystery still the mystery of what actually happened to the Capitol Building Cornerstone still remains unsolved.

5. Nostradamus: A real prophet?

Michel de Nostredame or Nostradamus was a sixteenth century purported seer and medical practitioner who wrote down a thousand prophecies. Besides his prophecies, he is also said to have predicted the French Revolution and Napoleon, Hitler’s rise to power, World Wars I & II, the death of Princess Diana, the Apollo moon landing, and the September 11 terrorist attacks. Despite all this the mystery if Nostradamus was real prophet remains unsolved.

6. What happened to the Mary Celeste?

The Mary Celeste was a merchant ship that was found abandoned in the Atlantic Ocean by another ship, the Dei Gratia in December 4 of 1872. It was found in not so bad condition and was seaworthy, however the crew members were missing, and the only living soul found onboard was a cat. The question that what happened to the Mary Celeste is one unsolved mystery.

7. The Secret of Bermuda Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle is an area in the Atlantic Ocean bordered by Florida, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. It is ususally crossed by cargo ships and pleasure cruises. Records say that over the years, a huge number of ships and aircraft, large and small have disappeared within the triangle area. Theories to why these have gone missing continue. Some experts are of view that the triangle disappearances can be explained by hurricanes, undersea earthquakes, and naturally occurring magnetic fields. The mystery goes on.

8. What happened to Colonists of Roanoke

During the 16th century, Colony of Roanoke, Virginia which was a group of around 200 people vanished all of the sudden. They had completely disappeared with no indication of where they had gone with just one clue left behind that was the word ‘Croatan‘ carved into a post, and the word ‘Cro’ carved into a tree; that’s all! Lot many efforts were made to search them but in vain as neither lead turned up any result. What actually happened to the Colony of Roanoke remains a mystery.

9. Crop Circles

In today’s modern era, one of the most bewildering phenomenons that exist is how the crop circles are created. Crop circles happen all the time and all over the world; approximately, 10,000 crop circles reported by more than 26 countries. Investigators of the phenomenon have noticed that there is a marked difference in the quality of the crop circle between those that are legitimate but the facts till remains that the mystery of how the crop circles are created is till date unsolved.

10. Existence of ghosts

Each time children watch horror movies, they ask their elders if ghosts exist. For centuries, it is beived that there is life after death in which the person without a physical body keeps haunting the house in different places. Lot many researchers have been brainstorming and doing research to get the answer to this question. But, the question still remains unanswered.
